UFORTE: Day 5
We started out a HOT day 5 at Lake Havesu City where we saw the London Bridge. Yes, I said London Bridge. Some rich guy and his company decided to buy the bridge, pick it up and ship it to Arizona. Whatev. It makes for fun times.
After a trip to the gift shop we bought some fish/duck/pigeon food and proceeded to get attacked by more pigeons than I've seen in my life. They enjoyed standing on Kaitlin quite a bit.
Next stop was Tucson for lunch at the Kon Tiki. This is a pretty cool restaurant that is decorated in a very convincing Tiki theme. They boast a drink menu larger than their food menu. Unfortunately for Stephanie and Amy, the underage members of the group prevented them from getting any drinks. So we had some awesome food and took some trippy photos (seen above).
And last on our agenda for Day 5 was "The Thing". Tourist trap? Yes. Really hokey? Yes. Worth the $1.00 admission? Eh, yeah I guess. You've got to see it just so you can say you've seen "The Thing". And what is "The Thing" you might ask? I'm not telling. You'll have to make the trip for yourself and be amazed... or disappointed... or at least a little amused...
And from there it was on to El Paso, where we'd find soft beds, air conditioning, free food, and real showers!
